NGC is a subcontractor to SAIC and is responsible for the space qualification testing efforts as part of the future Aerospace Vehicle Equipment Increment 1 (AVE I1) contract for space Telemetry, Tracking and Control (TT&C) Information Assurance (IA) with the Cryptologic Systems Group (CPSG) in San Antonio. This contract will incorporate cryptographic modernization (CM) features into future space TT&C applications. This position is contingent on a contract award in April or May 2006. Provide overall test leadership and direction to the AVE I1 team to ensure the successful completion of space qual testing and that the Aeronix Castellan solution satisfies all CM tenets required by the customer. Interface with crypto equipment vendor teaming partners designing and building prototype units in preparation for space qual testing. During development of the System Design Document and during the Low Rate Initial Production, identify and coordinate facilities and plan, and execute space-qualif tests sufficient to verify that the AVE Device is operationally safe, suitable and effective for fielding. This position can be performed from San Antonio, Los Angeles, or Colorado Springs (preferred).
Experience in the following areas is required
- Experienced senior engineer with testing experience who has used creativity and engineering judgment to solve unusual and complex engineering problems, has determined test objectives, conditions and requirements, and has evaluated test results.
- Knowledgeable of space-qual testing requirements and available candidate facilities
- Experience with design of medium speed (1 Kbps * 100 Mbps) comm devices (desired experience with crypto devices)
- At least 3 years of experience with creating and executing test plans and procedures
- BS in engineering discipline; advanced degree desirable\
- 7 years experience in space systems engineering (desired experience with satellite crypto systems)
- Active DoD Secret clearance, TS is highly desirable
Experience in the following areas is an asset:
- Familiarity with overarching DoD arch and standards like the GIG, Information Assurance Component (IAC) management standards, Electronic Key Management System (EKMS)
- Familiarity with technologies like High Assurance IP Encryptor (HAIPE), PKI, and IPv6 security
- Familiarity with stakeholders in DoD, NRO and NASA space community Location: CO-Colorado Springs
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Engineering & Applied Science Bachelors degree
