|
Summary: The Field Engineer will
· Provide installation, configuration and on-site corrective and preventative maintenance of up to 64 (1.8M – 2.4M VSATS) iDirect sites in Afghanistan.
· Provide additional support for the installation, configuration and operational of an iDirect 5IF Hub and 4.9M VSAT system to support up to 64 remote sites in Afghanistan.
· Provide Local Area Network assistance to the customer during installation process.
· Provide 1st and 2nd level troubleshooting while working with our US based Network Operations Center and Engineering staff to ensure timely resolution of iDirect network and satellite issues.
· Interpret field level documentation, provide as built/redline modifications to project drawings.
· Use interpersonal skills to properly and effectively interact with customers.
· Participate in customer, contract and vendor meetings as required.
Minimum
Requirements:
· Military or technical training in associated discipline or equivalent 6-10 years experience.
· Demonstrated working knowledge of iDirect infinity series remotes
· Demonstrated knowledge of installation practices for 1.8M thru 3.8M antenna systems and associated electronics.
· Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate technical data, methods and procedures.
· Demonstrated basic fundamental TCP/IP networking experience.
· Knowledge of SCPC, TDMA, and CDMA systems from Hub or remote perspective.
· Ability to perform effectively in an unstructured environment with high level of independent thinking.
· Communicate effectively, open to thinking out of the box, while possessing strong organizing, planning and interpersonal skills.
· Top Secret Clearance Required
Optional/
Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge of AC and DC Electrical Systems inclusive of back-up power generation and support, HVAC Systems, Fire Support Systems, etc.
· Knowledge in technical disciplines as associated with operations in the inside and outside plant environments a plus.
· iDirect Basic and Advanced IOM Certification
· Cisco CCNA Certification
· Bachelors Degree in a related field
