Profile:

Qualifications:
Knowledge of System Administration of Unix and/or Windows NT/2000/2003 platforms.
Extensive experience with large data center backup software.
Three or more years with Veritas Netbackup in a large data center environment.
Experience with Veritas Bare Metal Restore (BMR) a plus
Experience with Enterprise Tape Libraries such ADIC 10k or STK L700
Good network trouble shooting skills (DNS/Routers/Switches).
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to analyze document and resolve problems.
Description:
The duties of a backup administrator include maintaining an enterprise backup environment to ensure availability and recoverability of corporate electronic data. He is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution of backup environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain proper monitoring and reporting of utilization of the backup environment, including installing Veritas software, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and throughput analysis; media handling.
Work with the OS Support teams to resolve any O/S, hardware, or network based issues that may impact optimal performance of backup.
NetBackup software installation and upgrading, client, and server.
Maintain vaulting capabilities of Veritas NetBackup and Disaster Recovery (DR).
Testing and implementation of new releases or maintenance fix packs of Veritas software.
Create report status of Veritas for management as needed.
